This can be done on whole blood or even on clotted blood.
ABO blood grouping and Rh typing is done.
The sample can be stored at 4C. and stable for 5 days.
In case of Rh typing Some time Coomb’s test may be needed to confirm the Rh-group.
Blood group O is called universal donor that he can donate blood to all other groups.This should be done only in emergency.
While the blood group AB is universal recepient that he can receive blood from all other groups.
